Affiliate disclosure

loadcove.comPolicy documentUpdated August 17, 2026

The short version

Load Cove is reader-funded through affiliate commission. Some links on this site are affiliate links, and we may earn a commission when you buy through one, at no additional cost to you. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.

This page explains that arrangement fully: which programmes we belong to, how the links work, what commission does and does not influence, and why we disclose it in the way we do.

Why this disclosure exists

United States Federal Trade Commission guidance on endorsements and testimonials requires that any material connection between a publisher and a seller be disclosed clearly and conspicuously. A commission on a sale is a material connection. So we disclose it here in full, and we place a short disclosure inline near the first commercial link on every page that carries one, rather than burying it in the footer.

Amazon’s own participation requirements also oblige us to state our relationship with the programme. We are happy to. A reader who knows how a site is funded can weigh what it says.

Programmes we participate in

Amazon AssociatesOur primary programme. Load Cove is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com and affiliated international storefronts.
Other retailer and network programmesWe may join additional programmes where a retailer carries hauling, towing or load-securing equipment that Amazon does not. Any such link is disclosed on the page in the same way, and this page is updated when a programme is added.

How the links work

When you follow an affiliate link from one of our pages, the destination retailer records that the visit came from us. If you then buy something within that retailer’s tracking window, they pay us a small percentage of the sale. The price you pay is exactly the same as it would be if you had gone to the retailer directly. Affiliate commission is paid out of the retailer’s margin, never added to your total.

We do not receive your name, your address, your payment details or any other personal information from a purchase. What we see is aggregate: how many people followed a link and whether purchases resulted. Once you arrive at the retailer, that retailer’s privacy policy governs your visit. Our own privacy policy and cookie policy cover what happens on our side.

What commission does not buy

  • It does not buy a ranking. Commission rates vary between products and categories. We do not order guides by what pays best, and we do not promote a higher-commission product over a better-documented one.
  • It does not buy a score. Scores are editorial judgements formed from manufacturer specifications, published documentation and verified owner reports. No manufacturer can pay to change one.
  • It does not buy placement. We do not publish sponsored posts, we do not sell inclusion in a guide, and we do not insert paid links into existing pages.
  • It does not buy silence. Where a product has a documented weakness, an ambiguous capacity claim or a specification we could not verify, we say so on the page even when the product carries an affiliate link.

Some products we recommend carry no affiliate link at all, because the retailer has no programme or because the item is best bought locally. We still recommend them, because the recommendation is the point and the commission is not.

Pricing and availability

Prices, availability and product specifications shown on this site are indicative and change constantly. The information displayed on the retailer’s page at the time of purchase is the only version that applies to your order. We are not the seller, we hold no stock, and we are not a party to any transaction between you and a retailer.

Returns, refunds, warranty claims, shipping problems and order tracking are all handled by the retailer or manufacturer you bought from. We cannot resolve them and we have no access to your order.

A note specific to this category

This site covers equipment where a wrong choice can drop a load on a road. That raises the cost of a commission-driven recommendation well above the usual. It is the main reason we publish our research method openly, state that we do not test products in hand, and record what we could not verify. You can read the full position in our disclaimer and on our about page.
